The story is a fast read political thriller involving a Presidential election with a strong espionage element. A Secret Service agent and Vietnam veteran, is assigned to the protection detail of a former Vietnam anti-war activist who is running for the office of President of the United States. Earlier in Moscow during the collapse of the Soviet Union, a Russian clerk steals a file from the old KGB Headquarters. That file is the secret file on the Presidential candidate that shows him to be a 'mole' of the Russians. The clerk is discovered and flees to the United States with the file. The file if brought to light will show the candidate as a traitor and worse.
The conflict between the candidate and the Russians who are attempting to keep the file from being disclosed and a small group of government officials who are attempting to get the information it contains released, creates a scenario of murder and mayhem from Moscow to Washington D.C.; from the beaches of North Carolina to the regions of Kansas City; and from Charleston, South Carolina to the venues of New Orleans. Combine this situation with the ongoing intrigue of a political campaign and tensions surge as the possibility of a Russian 'mole' achieving the highest political office in the world becomes a reality.

Very good read. I liked the way the storyline moved through time and events. Does this writer have any more like this.
This book reminded me of The Manchurian Candidate and Patriot Games with a dash of fake news thrown in It grabbed me by the collar and never let me go until the very last page.
I read this not on but as a paperback issue purchased from CreateSpace.com, a subsidiary of . I seldom read fiction but pleased that I made an exception and read this one. Although the date setting in the book is removed from today into the not too distant past, it is ironic that the plot is relevant to today's headlines alleging Russian interference in the 2016 election. While the latter like the story in the book has proven to be fiction it is nonetheless feasible to an even greater extent when considering recent US election history whence we twice elected someone to the WH who remains to this day after his term in office has expired, extremely deceptive and secretive about his past; who was almost certainly constitutionally ineligible to be the POTUS and was likely a foreign national. Given that as precedent, what's to prevent a foreign enemy power from putting its candidate into the WH to serve its ulterior motives which is what Red Eagle is about. Book starts a little slow but by midway through it becomes a page turning political action thriller. Recommend it. Hollywood may come knocking on this one.
Great book, hard to put down. As a former Marine Aviator, he on the mark for the military parts. Really enjoyed it and hope there is a sequal
This is an excellent, well written, effort by a first-time writer. The plot moves along quickly and keeps the reader engaged. I eagerly await the author's next book and look forward to the movie!
One of the best I have read lately, even though it was written about 20 years ago and release recently, it really pertains to today. Great read. Hard to put down.
This reads like a Tom Clancy Novel. It has a thoroughly developed story with come-to-life characters. There were points where I could not put the book down. If you like spy novels, this one is for you.
