I began this book thinking it was going to be more fantasy than dystopian. I saw the word Princess in the description and immediately my imagination whisked me away to a castle where I would be reading about Balls, Princes, fancy dresses, and hidden passageways. And I got all of that- with a little modern twist.
Sasha (I really didn’t like that name for her) is from Earth and is reading alone in the library one day when the guy she’s had a crush on all her life walks in and asks her to Prom. She’s shocked, excited, and obviously confused, but she agrees and they end up having the best night ever. But on the way back home her crush, Grant, proved that she shouldn’t have been so quick to say yes when he puts a bracelet on her wrist that brings her to Aurora. Aurora is almost exactly the same as earth, with a few minor differences; one being in this world Sasha’s double is a Princess.
Grant who turns out not to be Grant at all but a soldier from Aurora who was tasked with bringing Sasha to this world, explains that the real Princess has been kidnapped and they need Sasha to pretend to be her until they can get her back. At first she’s furious, try’s to run away a few times, and almost gets killed, but agrees to help in the end.
I really liked the book in the beginning Sasha seemed really smart, and was easily relatable. Even though the book only spanned over a shot period of time it felt like Sasha had been in Aurora for years. She fit so well in the role of Princess, and I quickly fell in love with her relationship with Grants double Thomas.
But about 30 pages from the end everything started to fall apart. It seemed like a different person decided to write the ending because it didn’t flow with the rest of the book. Everything was rushed, I found it unbelievable that the evil character would tell Sasha his plans and his reason for what he did, everything just seemed ridiculous.
I probably wont read the next one, which is disappointing because if you had asked me 30 pages before the end I would have said I definitely would be reading it. But it was still really good and really well written.

This book is probably one of the best books I have ever read.
Very interesting. The book is really good. I would definitely recommend to those who like action adventure and love books
I bought this here because it was way to expensive at the bookstore. I love it. The writing style I would give four stars.
A wonderful story that combines fantasy, adventure and romance. The main characters Thomas and Sasha were easy to get hooked onto and their relationship in the story developed in a wonderful and believable way. The suspense from unpacking the story, kept me reading till the early morning. Looking forward to the sequel!
Book recommended by one of my favorite authors and bloggers (Serena Chase). LOVED every page. Thomas is my ideal hero. GREAT romance. GREAT action. Could not put this book down and am racing to read Book 2. One downside - could have been a completely clean read however author found it necessary to throw in handful of cuss words. Why? Totally not needed.
After anticipating this book for months, blogging about it in November, and then buying it for myself… it still took me like a year to finally sit down and read it! Tandem was a really fun an interesting exploring of the Many Worlds theory, and I’m such a sucker for that sort of thing. It raised a lot of interesting questions for me (What would you do if you met your “analog?” How would you deal with having to take someone else’s place?), and I really enjoyed examining them in my own mind, but also in Sasha’s context. Some things were a bit predictable, I think — one of those situations where the thing was so obvious I was getting annoyed by everyone’s bafflement — but thank goodness they caught on semi-quickly! In any case, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what happens in the next one!
A cross between A Wrinkle in Time and The Princess Diaries, Tandem is a delightful read that's equal parts science fiction, romance, adventure, and really pretty dresses.

Pragmatic, bookish Sasha is thrilled when cute-guy Grant asks her to the prom. She becomes significantly less so when he turns out not to be Grant, kidnaps her to a parallel universe, and becomes Thomas, her bodyguard and a highly trained member o the military elite, as she is forced to assume the role of Aurora's Princess Juliana, who has gone mysteriously missing.

The book is fast-paced and exciting, with enough twists and turns to make you groan each time you have to put it down it takes place over the course of six days, leading up to a forced wedding between princess Juliana and a prince from a rival territory, at the end of which Sasha has been promised she can go home. Each of those days is packed there are royal banquets, an attempted poisoning, a vertiginous fear-of-heights scene, a mysterious riddle to solve, and also kissing!

I can easily see this becoming the next Hunger Games - the world is so visual and enthralling! Very much looking forward to Tether, the next book in the series.
